Who am I to teach this course?
I wanted to create a course that focusses on pain care because over the years the people I have worked with have had such positive changes to their pain. With over 20 years of experience as a Physiotherapist and over a decade teaching Yoga I have many years experience working with different people with complex long term conditions, pain and disability.
This combination of Physiotherapy and Yoga gives a powerful and potentially life changing approach of traditional Yoga practices and modern evidence based approaches. I am passionate about sharing the practices of Yoga and that this can be experienced by all people; that having pain, disability or changes in health does not restrict a person from finding benefit.
I am dedicated to maintaining and growing my knowledge and expertise. Courses that I have recently completed include Pain Science and Education, Movement Science, Adaptive Yoga, and Trauma informed Yoga. I bring all this learning and experience to my work and to this course.
I thrive in working in small groups and I am told that my groups and classes are a friendly, non judgmental and enjoyable place to be. Bringing humour and lightness to the work we do means that people look forward to their sessions and can even feel that they are a highlight of the week.
